POOL RULES

Our pool belongs to all of us. Please read these rules, review them with your children, and help keep the pool safe and enjoyable for everyone. These rules will be enforced.

Use of the Pool

1. Hours of Operation

  • The Pool Opening and Closing Dates are determined each year by the Board of Directors, and will typically be mid-May through mid-October.
  • Pool is open daily: 6 a.m. - 9 p.m.
  • The Swim Club hosts the Walnut Heights Swim Team, which will typically use the pool Monday-Friday between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. in June and July, and 3-7 p.m. in April and May. The exact Swim Team schedule is determined at the beginning of each swim season and posted on the pool calendar.

2. Admission to the Facility

  • Admission is by app access or member key.
  • All guests must be accompanied by a pool member except during home swim meets.
  • One key per family; no duplications. The non-refundable replacement charge is $75.
  • Pool gates are to be closed and locked at all times. It is the responsibility of every member to ensure that the gates are closed and locked, except during swim team practice and home swim team meets.

3. Use of the Facility

  • Members and guests under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult member who is at least 18 years of age.
  • All swimmers under the age of 16 must have a swimming companion in the pool (buddy system), and the buddy system is recommended for all adult swimmers as well.
  • The small pool is for non-swimmers 6 years of age and under, who must be accompanied by an adult.
  • If not reserved by another member for a party, the picnic area and covered upper deck may be used by any member and their guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Please share BBQs if needed.
  • Members must clean up after themselves, with all garbage properly disposed of in the dumpster and recycling bins.

4. Safety and Membership Courtesy

  • This is our pool. Members must respond accordingly if they observe an unsafe or potentially unsafe act.
  • There shall be no running, pushing, dunking, or throwing people into the pool.
  • Tampering with pool property or unauthorized handling of pool operational equipment and supplies is not permitted. The member responsible for any resulting damage, or whose guest caused the damage, must repair it or pay for repairs.
  • Only one person at a time may be on the diving board. Multiple spring jumping is not allowed. Jumping or diving off the sides of the board into the pool is not permitted.
  • Swimming equipment is limited to fins, goggles, masks, and similar equipment. The use of balls or other play toys must not interfere with the enjoyment of other members and guests.
  • Pool lights must be on for evening swimming.
  • Only authorized personnel are allowed in the pump house or team room.
  • Persons should be suitably dressed for sunning and swimming when in the pool enclosure.
  • Members are expected to use common decency, good manners, orderly conduct, and show regard for one another.
  • Roof access is limited to maintenance personnel.
  • Children are not allowed to play in bathrooms and must not climb on toilets.
  • No bikes, skateboards, or scooters are allowed on the pool deck, except to walk them to the bike rack area.

5. Guest Privileges

  • Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests.
  • Guests must be accompanied by a Club member 16 years or older. Each Club member may bring no more than two guests. To bring more than two guests, contact the Swim Club Secretary and submit the applicable party fee.

6. Health Rules

  • The governing rules of the State Board of Health prevail at all times. A copy is posted on the bulletin board.
  • No pets are allowed.
  • Food is allowed at the facility, and all members and guests are responsible for cleanup.
  • No glass or breakable containers are allowed in the pool deck area.
  • No loud music.
  • No one with an open sore or cut, or wearing a bandage, may use the pool.
  • All non-potty-trained swimmers must wear swim diapers at all times.
  • No sale of alcohol is permitted on the premises at any time.

7. Enforcement of Rules

  • Adult members are responsible for enforcing all pool rules.
  • Parents are required to familiarize their children with the pool rules and, whether present or not, are responsible for their children at all times when using the pool facilities.
  • Serious or repeated violations of pool rules will be brought to the attention of the Board of Directors, which will determine the appropriate action, up to and including termination of membership and a prorated refund of any associated fees.
